Lori Bender joined FinDev Canada in September 2025 as the Director of Enterprise Risk Management and leads the team responsible for enterprise risk reporting, policy governance and data governance.  She brings over 20 years of leadership experience working in public and private organizations, with a focus on enterprise risk management and building new organizational capabilities.  

Previously, she held several positions at Export Development Canada, including Director of Enterprise Risk Management, and prior to that was a Senior Manager in a global consulting firm.

Lori has guided organizations in numerous planning and management initiatives to support the development, implementation and assessment of large-scale change projects. She has considerable experience in enterprise risk management and governance, business process management, change management, information management and internal audit.  

Lori earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University in New Orleans. She also holds a master’s Certificate of Risk Management from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
