Lorena is a Senior Gender Advisor at FinDev Canada. She works closely with private sector clients to gain a deep understanding of their performance under FinDev Canada’s three development impact goals, with the objective to catalyze areas of strength and harness opportunities for growth, particularly on women’s economic empowerment and climate action. Throughout this process, she supports clients with tailored advice, training, and development of technical assistance projects. She collaborates with peer DFIs on transactions and on market-level initiatives and, through the Canada Forum for Impact Investment of Development (CAFIID), she co-leads a peer network of Canadian impact investors to promote the adoption and strengthening of gender-lens investing practices.

Previously, as a Project Manager of international development projects, Lorena developed and managed international projects that built the capacity of national and local governments in economic development, clean energy, and business transformation. She managed the Cities and Climate Change Project in Mozambique (USD 6.6M, World Bank), and supported the implementation of projects in Barbados, South Sudan, and Guinea. With the Green Municipal Fund through the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Lorena contributed to the design of knowledge and financial offerings to help Canadian municipalities implement sustainable infrastructure.
