Alistair Smith joined FinDev Canada in 2024 as the Director of Information Technology, where he leads the organization’s technology strategy, cloud native infrastructure, and cybersecurity operations. In this role, he oversees the modernization of digital workplace tools, enterprise systems, Microsoft 365 environments, and other cloud platforms that support FinDev Canada’s mandate.

Alistair brings extensive experience in IT strategy, solution architecture, governance, and enterprise transformation. Prior to joining FinDev Canada, he held senior roles at Export Development Canada, including Senior Solution Architect, Manager of Technology Project Delivery, and Product Owner for Digital Employee Experience. In these roles, he led major modernization initiatives and enterprise technology programs, strengthening operational efficiency and user experience across complex environments.

Alistair holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Carleton University, a Diploma in Information Systems from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, and numerous technology certifications. He is based in Ottawa and remains an active member of the broader technology leadership community.
