Suzanne Gaboury

Seasoned and talented senior international investment professional with 25 years’ experience and proven success in identifying, developing, and optimizing returns on unique investment opportunities. Expertise developed by working in more than 40 emerging market economies with total project investment value of more than US$ 18B.

Prior to joining FinDev Canada, Ms. Gaboury was with FMO, the Dutch development bank, as Global Director for Agribusiness, Food & Water. As a strategic sector for FMO, she was responsible for the direction and focus of private sector investments in more than 85 emerging markets.

Before FMO, Ms. Gaboury was a Managing Director of Cordiant Capital, a private emerging market fund manager in Montreal. She was responsible for a portfolio of some US$ 525 million, as well as oversight of the US$ 211 million Canada Investment Fund for Africa.

With the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for 14 years as Senior Banker, Ms. Gaboury pioneered new private sector investment programmes to capitalize on emerging business opportunities in the former Soviet Union and CIS.

Ms. Gaboury holds a BA (Economics) from the University of Alberta and an MBA from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, Ireland.
